Job Summary:
A Control and Electrical Technician is an Employee who is qualified to install, modify, adjust, maintain, diagnose, and repair electrical equipment at the power plant facilities.
Responsibilities:
Install, modify, adjust, maintain, diagnose, and repair:
AC and DC electrical power and auxiliary supply equipment;
pneumatic and hydraulic sensing,
measuring and control equipment;
auxiliary boilers and their control logic;
water treatment facilities;
igniters and scanners and their control units;
plant communication systems;
Programmable Logic Controllers(PLC's) in and associated with steam plant and BHP facilities;
other control schemes in and associated with steam plant and BHP facilities.
Install, modify, adjust, maintain, diagnose, and repair the Distributed Control Systems (DCS) equipment that does not require administrative access.
Tune and force points within the DCS at the steam plant and other facilities.
Perform general electrical work.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
5-7 years experience in heavy industrial electrical maintenance
Ability to work comfortably both independently, and in a “team” work setting
Working knowledge of, and be able to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and wiring diagrams
Familiarization with current types of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems
Experience with both AC and DC electrical systems
Demonstrated (English) written and verbal communications skills
Associate of Technical Arts degree or other specialized certification of electrical and control training (or equivalent work experience)
Experience with computer based control systems (DCS and PLC)
Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, and databases)
