| Description: |
Under administrative direction, manages the installation and maintenance of complex mechanical systems and equipment to ensure cost-effective, reliable and safe delivery of fossil fuel generated electricity in compliance with environmental regulations. Job requires advanced knowledge of mechanical maintenance methods, techniques and practices, sufficient to manage a broad range of complex skilled craft functions. Guidelines are limited, requiring initiative and resourcefulness in researching policies, precedents, trends and patterns to develop new methods and techniques. Resolves new and unusual problems and recommends solutions to unique situations and circumstances. Completed work is evaluated periodically for effectiveness in meeting requirements or specified results. Regular contact with individuals in internal and external leadership positions requires the ability to influence or motivate individuals or groups. Manages rotating work crews required to operate and maintain a fossil fuel-fired electric generating plant, 24 hours-a- day, seven days a week.

OPEN REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree in business, engineering or a related technology, and a minimum of four (4) years progressively responsible power plant experience, including two (2) years at the supervisory management level.

Two (2) years college in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics or related area and a minimum of six (6) years progressively responsible power plant experience, including two (2) years at the supervisory management level.
~OR~
A minimum of (10) years progressively responsible power plant experience, including two (2) years at the supervisory management level.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:
A valid driver's license is required prior to employment and must be maintained during employment in this classification.
