Under immediate supervision, completes on-the-job training in skilled craft work associated with the operation, maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of process equipment and components associated with combustion turbines and their associated equipment operated in simple or combined cycle modes. Procedures and practices are established and policies are clearly-defined, requiring judgment in locating and selecting the most appropriate procedures, practices and policies to apply to specific cases. Assists in solving routine or recurring problems and identifies and suggests solutions to more complex problems. Completed work is reviewed for quality, timeliness and adherence to established methods, standards and policies. Regular contact with people in other work groups or individuals outside the organization to obtain, clarify or provide information requires courtesy, tact, and effective communication skills. This is designated a shift job and as such employees may be required to work nights, evenings, weekends and holidays. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, where there are some risks and hazards. The work is reviewed during progress and upon completion for accuracy and completeness in following instructions.
Salary: 22.60 / Hourly
Application Instructions: OPEN REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum two (2) years experience in: Maintenance, Operation and Troubleshooting of equipment and systems in an industrial, manufacturing or military facility with experience in at least one of the following: · turbine propulsion systems; · combustion turbines, and their auxiliary systems; · steam turbines and their auxiliary systems; · process steam boilers, including the combustion equipment and their auxiliary systems; · electric generators and their auxiliary systems; · air compressors, heat exchangers, high pressure lube oil: supply, transfer and storage systems; · compressed gas storage and transfer systems, fuel oil storage and transfer systems; · de-mineralized or de-ionized water treatment equipment; · common plant electrical and instrument systems, other applicable systems/equipment; · welding, mechanical maintenance, or heavy industrial mechanical work; · process control systems and/or industrial electronics; · industrial or commercial maintenance, installation or construction; · jet propulsion engines or land based combustion turbines and their auxiliary systems; To be considered for employment, the applicant will be required to: Earn a passing score on a test of adult basic education. Earn a passing score on a mechanical comprehension and aptitude Test. Pass a Physical Abilities Test that is representative of the physical demands of the job. Pass a qualitative respirator fit test with ability to wear the respirator without respiratory distress. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: A valid driver’s license is required prior to employment and must be maintained during employment in this classification. Either or both of the following may be required upon employment and must be maintained during employment in this classification: · Class A or lesser Commercial Driver’s License with a Hazardous Material Endorsement · American Welding Society Structural Welding Certificate.
